KT is working with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea to foster AI-based talent and drive digital innovation in the public sector.

KT on Aug. 4 signed a memorandum of understanding with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea to train AI-based talent and promote digital innovation in the public sector.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will run an education programme for KT’s AI utilisation competency test, AICE (AI Certificate for Everyone), and strengthen AI and data utilisation capabilities among the agency’s employees.

They will expand the use of AI across the agency’s main projects, including national technical qualifications, vocational competency development, and employment and start-ups. They will also jointly identify tasks to advance AI-based services and develop new AI transformation (AX) projects.

KT will use the AICE education programme and AI and big data technologies to support improvements in employees’ work capabilities and services at the agency. The Human Resources Development Service of Korea will expand training of AI and digital talent needed in industrial settings, based on its expertise in vocational competency development and lifelong learning.

Seong Won-je (성원제), executive director and head of the Eastern Corporate Customer Division at KT’s Enterprise Business, said, "Based on KT’s AI technological capabilities and the AICE education system, we will support the Human Resources Development Service of Korea in strengthening AI capabilities and digital innovation." He added, "We will create AI-based innovation results and expand them into various cooperative projects."
