JB Financial Group is pushing to expand non-interest income, advance artificial intelligence transformation (AX) and strengthen risk management in the second half of the year as well.

JB Financial said on Monday it held the "Second 2026 Management Strategy Meeting" from July 30 to 31 at the Aureum Campus in Jeongeup.

The group assessed that its structural profit base, including net interest income, has expanded on the back of a quality growth strategy centered on return on risk-weighted assets (RORWA) and continued asset growth.

In the second half, it plans to increase non-interest income and restructure its portfolio around high-efficiency assets. It will maintain competitiveness in its cost-to-income ratio (CIR) and strengthen its risk management system to respond to an uncertain financial market environment.

Jeonbuk Bank and Gwangju Bank announced five key strategic tasks and execution plans for the second half. These included their role in regional finance, expanded support for corporate finance, stronger branch sales, and improved competitiveness in AI and products.

The meeting also featured a special lecture and seminar to embed AX across the group. Chang-gyu Seok (석창규), chairman of Webcash Group, presented cases of using a business-to-business (B2B) financial AI platform and ways to improve work productivity.

On the second day, a forum on "drawing up strategic tasks in the AI era" and a report on global innovation technology trends were held. Execution plans to expand cooperation among affiliates and broaden regional win-win finance were also shared.

Chairman Ki-hong Kim (김기홍) said, "In the first half of this year, we confirmed that the group’s structural profit base is becoming solid." He added, "Considering the uncertain market environment, we must raise the group-wide risk management system to the next level."

On advancing AX, he called on the chief executives of each affiliate to directly lead changes in organizational culture and ways of working.

Kim said, "We need to find and spread real application cases so that all employees can feel the necessity and efficiency of using AI agents." He added, "We must build company-wide AX capabilities."
