Roblox said on Monday it has launched in South Korea a 3D experiential game called "Family Zone" to help parents and children build digital habits together.

Roblox held a "Roblox Digital Citizenship Fireside Chat" event on Sunday at the Westin Josun in Jung-gu, Seoul. Tammy Bamik (타미 바우믹), vice president of digital citizenship and partnerships at Roblox, explained the core functions of Family Zone, which was released early last month, and the intent behind its planning. It was designed to reflect feedback from guardians who have difficulties managing the platform.

Family Zone consists of 3 sub-content areas: interactive co-play, tutorials for parents and safety education. Interactive co-play is a mini activity to learn how to move around and explore within the platform.

Parents can use the tutorials to set child protection features directly, including screen time management, spending limits and content restrictions. Children receive educational modules developed in collaboration with global safety experts, including responding to online bullying, preventing scams and identifying harmful behavior. The game has recorded 9 million cumulative visits.

Bamik said, "Healthy digital habits begin not with control but with empathy and communication between parents and children." She added, "Through Family Zone, introduced in collaboration with global safety experts, we will continue to take the lead in creating a digital ecosystem where both parents and children can enjoy themselves with peace of mind."
