[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] BlackRock has launched two tokenised money market funds designed for use as reserve assets by U.S. stablecoin issuers. Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 3 that the two products help meet eligible reserve asset requirements for U.S. payment stablecoin issuers under the U.S. federal stablecoin law, the GENIUS Act, enacted in July 2025.
The products launched are BSTBL and BRSRV. BSTBL is a tokenised share class of the existing Select Treasury Based Liquidity Fund. It operates on Ethereum, and eligible investors can transfer tokenised fund shares between approved wallets.
BRSRV is a newly created tokenised money market fund for institutional investors. It supports multiple blockchains and is designed to automatically reinvest daily dividends. It targets digital asset use cases and includes stablecoin reserve management.
The launch is part of BlackRock's push into the tokenised Treasury market. Industry data show BlackRock's BUIDL is the largest tokenised Treasury fund, managing more than $2.6 billion in assets.
