Microsoft is preparing a new security product to help companies find software bugs using AI, The Information reported on July 16.
The product, codenamed "Project Perception" internally, is expected to launch by the end of this month.
Project Perception combines AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Microsoft to find software bugs and automatically fix vulnerabilities.
The Information reported this, citing a person familiar with the project.
The price has not been finalised, but Microsoft is trying to offer customers a cost-efficient alternative to the high-priced Anthropic Mythos, the person said.
Microsoft plans to use a "model router" so it can mix and match OpenAI, Anthropic and Microsoft models depending on the type of task, cutting costs compared with using only a single model.
The Information said Project Perception is part of efforts by Microsoft’s new head of security, Heyete Gallo (헤예테 갈로), to expand its security business and build a foundation to compete with Anthropic, OpenAI and others.
Gallo, who took charge of Microsoft’s security business in February, has recently reorganised the organisation, put greater focus on AI tools and scaled back existing products.
