F5 Networks

F5 has acquired SurePassAI, a platform provider that detects the use of AI tools and platforms and enforces cybersecurity policies, Security Boulevard reported on Sunday.

The SurePassAI solution will be integrated as a core function of F5’s newly introduced AI security platform.

F5 plans to continue offering SurePassAI as an independent platform while also integrating related functions into its application delivery and security platform (ADSP).

SurePassAI analyses network traffic to identify which AI tools and models are being called and which application workloads are accessing AI models or MCP servers. It offers capabilities beyond simply creating an allow list of approved AI services, F5 said.

Jimmy White (지미 화이트), chief technology officer for AI security at F5, said that as AI agents are deployed, the level of risk that companies bear rises. He said that in an era when regulations could emerge to restrict access to certain AI models based on nationality, it is difficult to determine a user’s nationality using only an IP address.
