Barracuda Networks has launched an integrated email security feature that uses AI to automatically detect and remove email threats, Security Boulevard reported on June 17 local time.
The feature recalls malicious emails found in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace inboxes in real time. It also correlates threat signals across environments to identify, investigate and remove risks.
Brian Downey (브라이언 다우니), senior vice president of product management at Barracuda Networks, said the product lets security teams use AI to respond to email threats at machine speed as adversaries use AI to mount more sophisticated attacks.
He said the attack surface has expanded significantly as AI agents take on roles in reading, sending and managing emails. Attacks that target AI agents by embedding malicious prompts in emails are also increasing. "It is only a matter of time before business email compromise attacks target AI agents that can access corporate work workflows," he said.
