SOOP will seek to strengthen its exclusive streaming capabilities and content competitiveness through a long-term partnership with a global esports team.

SOOP said on Monday it signed a strategic partnership to extend its partnership with global esports team Gen.G through 2028 and expand the scope of cooperation. Under the agreement, the two companies will focus on expanding esports content and creating opportunities for communication between players and fans.

Players from South Korea teams across all game titles operated by Gen.G will run exclusive personal broadcasts on live streaming platform SOOP. The broadcasts will feature players from major titles including League of Legends, Valorant, PUBG, FC Online and Tekken. Based on this, the company plans to broaden touchpoints by offering various content formats, including streamer collaborations, subscriber live sessions and events.

It will also push to expand an ecosystem bringing together pro gamers and streamers. Gen.G players plan to participate in existing SOOP content such as Myeolmangjeon and SLL to meet viewers.

It will also move into planning and producing Gen.G’s various offline events. Through on-site programmes linked to matches, it plans to increase opportunities for fan participation and jointly operate content that continues from online broadcasts to venues.

A SOOP official said, "Through this expanded partnership, we will broaden fan touchpoints by operating everything from players’ personal broadcasts to collaborative content and offline events." The official added, "We will expand opportunities for players and fans to communicate directly in areas beyond matches."
