[DigitalToday reporter Hyunwoo Choo (추현우)] Testo Korea, the Korean unit of German measuring equipment company Testo, is strengthening its push into the HVAC market by highlighting the compact vane anemometer 'testo 417' as a flagship product specialised for indoor ventilation system inspections.
Testo Korea took part in the Korea Machinery Facility Exhibition held at COEX in Seoul from May 13 to 15, showcasing the testo 417 and solutions related to heating and cooling and air quality. Inside its booth, the company set up a dedicated zone where visitors could try an anemometer, an illuminance meter and a temperature and humidity meter. It drew strong interest from on-site engineers and building managers.
The key feature of the testo 417 is that it integrates a 100 mm large vane into the main body of the device. It can simultaneously measure air velocity, air volume and temperature at vents and intake and exhaust outlets, allowing it to be deployed immediately for balancing work on HVAC equipment. The display shows wind direction (intake and exhaust) in an intuitive way, making readings easy regardless of skill level.
When connected via Bluetooth to the 'Testo Smart App', a smartphone or tablet can be used as a secondary display. This allows real-time data checks even when measuring vents located in hard-to-reach high places. The app automatically calculates hourly and site-by-site averages and can create a report on site and send it by email immediately.
Lee Sang-yeop (이상엽), a team leader at Testo Korea, said that managing indoor air conditions and optimising HVAC systems is directly linked to cutting corporate energy costs and responding to environmental regulations. He introduced the testo 417 as "the best solution" to boost work efficiency across a range of sites, including building maintenance, HVAC equipment inspections and indoor air-quality management, citing intuitive operation and high precision.
