Morgan Stanley has submitted separate registration filings to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for bitcoin and Solana-based exchange-traded funds, The Block reported on Monday.
The Solana ETF also includes a staking feature.
Another traditional finance heavyweight is entering the crypto market, following BlackRock and Fidelity, and the crypto ETF market is expected to expand further.
Cumulative crypto ETF trading volume in the United States has recently surpassed $2 trillion, The Block reported.
Morgan Stanley currently manages about $6.4 trillion in assets, and the ETF applications are seen as a sign it wants to embrace crypto assets as a full-fledged portfolio component. Morgan Stanley last year revised internal guidance to allow up to 4 percent allocation in digital asset holding portfolios and permitted crypto access across all customer accounts, including retirement accounts.
