Koscom said on May 13 it has signed a business partnership with Woori Investment Securities on digital assets and tokenised securities (STO).
The two companies plan to build a cooperation framework to advance the tokenised securities business based on blockchain technology and financial investment capabilities.
Koscom has expanded its foundation for tokenised securities-related businesses through projects including building an STO issuance platform with LG CNS, conducting a proof-of-concept on a total volume management testbed with the Korea Securities Depository, carrying out a proof-of-concept to verify stablecoin-based atomic settlement technology, and joining the Korea Exchange fractional investment distribution platform KDX consortium.
Koscom CEO Chang-hyun Yoon (윤창현) said a joint tokenised securities platform is efficient because it is designed so brokerages can use a stable issuance infrastructure together. He said Koscom will continue to advance tokenised securities market infrastructure through cooperation with market participants. Woori Investment Securities CEO Ki-cheon Nam (남기천) said the two companies will combine Koscom's blockchain technology and Woori Investment Securities' capabilities in the securities business to build a stable tokenised securities platform environment.
