[DigitalToday reporter Ho-jung Lee] Nintendo Korea will raise prices across its Nintendo Switch device lineup and online services, citing changes in the global market environment.

Nintendo Korea said on May 8 it will increase the recommended retail prices of its Nintendo Switch console lineup by about 30,000 to 50,000 won depending on the model from May 25.

The move follows a review of global business feasibility. The Nintendo Switch OLED model will rise to 465,000 won from 415,000 won, the standard Nintendo Switch to 410,000 won from 360,000 won, and the Nintendo Switch Lite to 279,800 won from 249,800 won.

A price change for the next-generation device, the Nintendo Switch 2, is also set to take place in September. Details, including the specific schedule, will be announced later.

After the device price increases, the price of Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions will also rise from July 1. The adjustment is part of a global, common service change intended to balance service pricing across countries.

The basic individual plan will rise to 5,900 won from 4,900 won for a 1-month pass, and to 24,900 won from 19,900 won for a 12-month pass. The 12-month family plan will change to 47,900 won from 37,900 won.

The 12-month pass for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, which includes additional content such as classic games, will also rise. The individual plan will increase to 49,900 won from 39,900 won, and the family plan to 84,900 won from 74,900 won.

A Nintendo Korea official said, "We are sorry to cause inconvenience to customers and all stakeholders due to the price change," adding, "We ask for your generous understanding."
