AI model compression company Nota said on Wednesday it signed a contract with neural processing unit (NPU) specialist Mobillint to supply AI optimisation technology.

Under the contract, Mobillint will introduce Nota’s AI model optimisation platform, NetsPresso, to its NPU product lineup under a licensing arrangement. This will provide Mobillint NPU users with an AI model optimisation and deployment environment alongside the hardware.

Nota will use the partnership to expand NetsPresso’s supported hardware ecosystem into the domestic NPU segment. It is also reviewing a plan to run its vision AI solution, NVA, using Mobillint NPU-based cards and servers. The companies plan to jointly pursue integrated hardware-software solution business in edge-based video AI markets including industrial safety, intelligent transport systems, smart cities and security monitoring.

Chae Myung-soo (채명수), Nota’s chief executive, said, "By establishing an environment where NetsPresso can optimise more AI models faster on Mobillint NPUs, we will work together to create a practical commercialisation case of domestic hardware-software integration."

Shin Dong-ju (신동주), Mobillint’s chief executive, said, "By combining with Nota’s AI model optimisation technology, we will stably implement high-performance, low-power AI services across a range of industrial sites."
