Cisco said on May 4 it intends to acquire Astrix Security, a startup specialising in security for non-human identities (NHIs).
Israeli media outlet Calcalist reported the acquisition was worth about $400 million. Astrix, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, develops software that monitors AI agents and applies security controls.
It specialises in securing digital access credentials such as API keys, service accounts and authentication tokens used when software and AI agents access other systems.
Cisco plans to integrate Astrix technology into its Identity Intelligence platform.
Astrix has raised a total of $85 million in venture capital funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, CRV and Menlo Ventures, among others.
