[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Jiranjigyo Soft said on April 29 it will absorb and merge its subsidiary Next Intelligence.ai (NI) and strengthen its AI business.

Jiranjigyo Soft earlier held a board meeting on April 27 and resolved a small-scale merger with NI.

The merger will be carried out as a no-capital-increase, no-consideration merger while Jiranjigyo Soft holds 100 percent of NI. No new shares will be issued. The merger date is May 29.

NI, the company to be dissolved, has developed the enterprise email solution OfficeMail and the AI solution OfficeAgent. The two companies said they expect synergies from combining NI's AI capabilities with Jiranjigyo Soft's sales and operations infrastructure, improving the speed and completeness of AI-based service development, and streamlining processes from technology development through commercialisation and operations.

They will push in earnest an AI transformation (AX) of corporate work environments, centred on OfficeAgent. The company plans to apply AI agent technology to its existing information security and work productivity solutions to provide a more advanced work environment.

Chief Executive Seung-ae Park (박승애) said, "This merger is a decision to internalise AI capabilities and advance our business structure beyond a simple organisational integration," and added, "Based on synergies between the two companies, we will build a structure in which technology and business are organically connected and strengthen our competitiveness in the AI market."
