[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Leap Wallet, a non-custodial wallet in the Cosmos ecosystem, will end operations of its software suite on May 28, The Block reported on Thursday.

The shutdown covers its browser extension, iOS and Android apps, the Leap web app, the Swapfast exchange platform and the Leap Cosmos Hub validator.

The Leap team posted a notice on X about the service shutdown.

Users who delegated ATOM to the Cosmos Hub validator must redelegate to another validator to continue receiving staking rewards.

Even if core services stop, non-custodial wallet users can continue accessing existing assets in other wallets using their recovery phrase or private key. There is no need to move assets to a new address. Importing the recovery phrase or private key restores the same address, and the assets remain in their existing location.

Leap launched in late 2021 after receiving a $50,000 grant from Terraform Labs. In early 2022, it raised a $3.2 million seed round co-led by CoinFund and Pantera Capital.

Leap initially sought to establish itself as a Terra ecosystem wallet, but after Terra's collapse it shifted to supporting the multi-chain Cosmos ecosystem based on the Cosmos SDK and expanded supported chains to as many as 100.
