Naver Pay said on Thursday it has expanded functions and content for Pay Pet, a character-based points accumulation service.
The update focuses on strengthening features that let users decorate characters and spaces themselves. Users can personalise Pay Pet using items across seven categories, including head and face accessories, props, wallpaper and flooring.
Items can be bought with Pet Cookies earned through check-ins, growth missions and mini games, and can also be obtained for free through events. The results of the customization are reflected in real time on the screen within the Point tab of the Naver Pay app.
The character lineup has also been expanded. Four new characters have been added: Rally (rabbit), Ali (bird), Doni (pig) and Bertie (turtle), in addition to the existing Moa (dog), Boni (cat) and Rich (hamster).
Mini games have increased to six from two. The structure allows users to use Pet Cookies earned through games to grow characters.
A Naver Pay official said, "We plan to continuously update seasonal limited characters and items so that users can raise their Pay Pet with even more affection."
