SOOP said on March 27 it shifted to a co-CEO structure with Choi Young-woo (최영우) and Lee Min-won (이민원) through a regular shareholders meeting and a board meeting.
The reorganisation was carried out to boost future growth and increase the speed of response to change.
Choi has led efforts to build a globally integrated live-streaming platform, enter the Southeast Asian market and strengthen e-sports capabilities. He will focus on expanding global business and on the game and e-sports businesses.
New co-CEO Lee previously served as head of SOOP's management planning team, head of the social media business division and head of the management support division. He will oversee sports, social, community and new business areas and work to identify new growth engines based on live streaming.
Former CEO Seo Soo-gil (서수길) will shift his role to chief vision officer. He will be responsible for future growth strategies, including artificial intelligence, and the company's mid- to long-term vision.
A SOOP official said the company plans to maintain the competitiveness of its existing businesses while also identifying new opportunities in new business areas, adding it will strengthen future growth engines.
