Aave DAO has passed a proposal vote on an ARFC (Aave Request for Comment) for deploying V4, The Block reported on March 23 local time.

Aave aims to launch the V4 upgrade on the Ethereum mainnet within this year.

According to the report, V4 introduces a modular hub-and-spoke design as the first step in Aave’s decentralized governance process. It is designed to maximize liquidity and enable more refined risk management. A liquidity hub centrally manages the assets it provides, while each spoke can apply individual lending rules and risk parameters, supporting diverse market structures. It is also deeply integrated with Aave’s GHO stablecoin and a new liquidation engine.

Aave Labs plans to publish an AIP (Aave Improvement Proposal) for the mainnet launch after community feedback and snapshot voting. V4 underwent a 345-day security review, including a manual audit. Aave Labs is conducting additional validation using a $1.5 million security budget approved by the DAO.
