WordPress has unveiled an AI agent, TechCrunch reported on Thursday.
The AI agent introduced by WordPress can handle writing, editing and publishing on WordPress. It can also manage comments, revise metadata, and organise tags and categories.
Users can control the AI agent through natural-language commands. WordPress accounts for 43 percent of websites worldwide, and TechCrunch said the introduction of the AI agent is likely to significantly change the flow of web content.
WordPress last year introduced the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to let AI read website content, settings and analytics data.
The AI agent analyses site themes and design to generate content in a consistent style, and all changes require user approval. WordPress users need to enable AI features and connect MCP-supported AI clients such as ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor.
