Krafton said on Feb. 5 it has opened global early access for new title "PUBG: Blindspot" (Blindspot), developed by PUBG Studios.

Blindspot is a top-down-view, 5-on-5 PvP shooting game. It implements fast pacing and close-quarters battle tactics in indoor-focused battlegrounds in an intuitive way. It is designed to allow players to experience realistic controls and intense combat even from a top-down perspective.

The game is offered as a free-to-play title via Steam, and supports Nvidia GeForce Now so it can be played in various environments.

The early access release marks the starting point of "open development" to improve the game by reflecting user feedback. The development team plans to run updates on a short cycle to raise completion. In this version, a new defender character, "Blaze", has been added, allowing tactics using Molotov cocktails.

Next on the schedule, Ranked Season 1 starts on Feb. 12. A creator tournament is also planned, with 20 streamers participating on platforms including Twitch and Chzzk.

Blindspot is a spinoff title that expands the PUBG intellectual property (IP) universe. It is set decades after the original "PUBG: Battlegrounds" and covers conflict surrounding a device called "Crypt" that developed from blue zone control technology.

Jang Tae-seok (장태석), head of the PUBG IP franchise, said, "Starting with Blindspot, we plan to expand new titles across various platforms and genres to deliver the fun unique to the PUBG IP."
