Semiconductor equipment maker Lam Research said on Wednesday it procured about 1 trillion won worth of parts from South Korean partner companies last year.

The company said it was the result of maintaining cooperative ties with South Korean companies for 23 years since 2003. Materials and parts produced in South Korea are used at Lam Research Manufacturing Korea in Yongin as well as across Lam Research’s global manufacturing sites.

Lam Research said it has provided South Korean small and mid-sized companies with joint engineering and quality process cooperation, and opportunities to participate in the global supply chain. It said this has strengthened suppliers’ technology and quality competitiveness and supported their expansion into overseas markets.

Lam Research said the expanded procurement is also contributing to job creation. It said that, as of 2026, thousands of workers at multiple partner companies are dedicated to Lam Research-related work.

Junhong Park (박준홍), head of Lam Research’s South Korean unit, said, "We are proud of the partnerships Lam Research has built with our partners over the past decades." He said, "Through close cooperation, we have been able to enhance our customer service capabilities and also contribute to growth and innovation in the domestic semiconductor ecosystem."
