NH NongHyup Bank said on Thursday that its CEO Kang Tae-young (강태영) has joined a relay campaign to eradicate youth gambling to raise awareness of the risks and heighten vigilance over the issue.
The youth gambling eradication relay campaign is hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. It was launched to highlight the seriousness of illegal cyber gambling among teenagers and promote prevention, with various organisations including government agencies taking part.
As the relay campaign recently spread to the financial sector, SC First Bank CEO Lee Kwang-hee (이광희) has nominated Kang to take part.
Kang said: "I hope this campaign will serve as an opportunity for society as a whole to become more alert to the gambling problem so that teenagers can grow up in a safe society." He added: "NH NongHyup Bank will also work to help teenagers establish sound financial values through various activities such as financial education."
