The Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association (KCTA) said on March 4 it held the 66th Cable TV Outstanding Programme Awards for local channels and selected 16 winners from 118 candidates. The picks comprised 8 news reports, 6 regular programmes and 2 specials.

In the news report category, works drawing attention for probing administrative blind spots were highlighted, including suspected collusion between public institutions and private companies, urban design issues threatening student commute safety and disputes over groundwater fee calculations. Awarded entries included "Rigged Game, Suspected Collusion Between an Industrial Complex Chairman and a Waterproofing Contractor" (D'LIVE Seoseoul Cable TV) and "Dead-End Alley in Front of a School, Dangerous Commutes" (LG HelloVision Nara Broadcasting).

In the regular programme category, works recognised for quality included "A Trip Through Native Words," which unearthed disappearing local vocabulary, and "A Heart Forged on One Path, Myeonggyeongjisu," which recorded the value of century-old local shops. Both were produced by Seogyeong Broadcasting.

In the special category, selected programmes included "A City That Raises Children, Incheon's Secret" (Namincheon Broadcasting), which covered Incheon city's case of recording one of the country's highest birth increase rates, and "Heritage, Bangucheon" (JCN Ulsan Jungang Broadcasting), which reinterpreted the ecological and humanistic value of Bangocheon from a K-art perspective.
