Koscom said on Tuesday it carried out an organisational restructuring as part of efforts to respond to changes in the capital markets environment and secure future growth drivers.

Koscom first expanded and reorganised its existing Digital Business Division into a Digital Asset Business Division to build infrastructure covering the full process of issuance, distribution and settlement in the digital asset market.

It will step up efforts to secure new growth drivers by upgrading the existing Digital Asset Business Task Force Department, which was dedicated to discovering and marketing digital asset-related businesses, into a formal Digital Asset Business Department.

It also created a Digital Asset Service Department to strengthen expertise by taking charge of the technical foundation, including business application development, distributed ledger operations and IT infrastructure operations.

It will also focus capabilities on upgrading IT systems in line with changes in the capital markets environment. In step with changes at the Korea Exchange, it plans to create an Extended Trading Development Task Force Team and ensure a stable supply of systems. It also plans to form a KDX Development Task Force Department to carry out work on introducing a matching engine and building a distribution platform related to the STO distribution over-the-counter exchange (KDX), with the aim of contributing to expanding the capital market data ecosystem.

It is also starting preparations for its 50th anniversary next year. It will create a 50th Anniversary Commemoration Project Promotion Task Force Department to fully pursue a declaration of its future vision and related commemorative projects.

Kim Do-yeon (김도연), head of Koscom's Management Strategy Division, said the restructuring was aimed at solidifying Koscom's technology leadership amid a rapidly changing capital markets environment and the flow of digital transformation. He stressed it would pursue future growth drivers while maintaining its core role of operating stable IT infrastructure.
