Paycoin, Danal's simple payment platform, said on Wednesday it has opened a payment service at theme park Seoul Land. It said it will expand its offline presence beyond convenience store-centred, everyday outlets into the leisure and culture sector. The strategy is to extend the same payment experience used for daily spending to experiential consumption spaces.
The introduction of Paycoin payments at Seoul Land is significant because Paycoin can now be used at a large leisure facility. Paycoin has expanded acceptance mainly across daily-life infrastructure. It plans to continue widening payment experiences that can be used across lifestyles, using this partnership as a catalyst.
The method is simple. If users show the Paycoin app's payment barcode at Seoul Land's ticket office, on-site ticket issuance is completed immediately. To mark the service launch, it will also run a discount promotion for full-day park passes through March 31.
Paycoin is also strengthening tangible benefits at existing partners alongside expanding new outlets. At Seven Eleven, where the service began late last year, it plans to boost perceived benefits in everyday spending, including an additional discount event from Jan. 18 to 30 to expand user benefits.
A Paycoin official said opening payments at a large leisure facility is an example showing that digital asset payments are quickly taking root in real consumption environments. The official said Paycoin will strengthen linkages between platforms in line with the spread of stablecoins and lead changes in the offline payments market.
