[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] As Ripple expands its businesses in banking, digital-asset custody and stablecoin distribution, an analysis says actual transactions and usage must increase for XRP’s price to be affected.
On Oct. 29 (local time), blockchain media outlet The Crypto Basic reported that financial coach John Vasquez said Ripple and XRP are strengthening their position based on what was announced at Ripple’s Swell 2026.
He cited as key progress that Ripple is set to move ahead with establishing a nationwide trust bank following final approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). He also pointed to cooperation with BNY as focused on expanding blockchain use, including digital-asset custody and tokenised trade finance.
The expansion of distribution channels for the stablecoin RLUSD was also mentioned. He said cooperation with Robinhood, Coinbase’s support for RLUSD, and deposits and withdrawals on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), Base and Ethereum could broaden the scope of activity in the Ripple ecosystem.
But business achievements have not translated into the XRP price investors expect. Vasquez also answered a question from an investor asking, "Why isn’t it $10 yet?" with "Patience, patience, patience," stressing it still takes time for real-world usage and transactions to increase. That means Ripple’s business expansion does not immediately imply buying demand for XRP.
Vasquez said XRP is his largest cryptocurrency holding, followed by bitcoin and Solana (SOL). He said he is still buying more of all three assets and also bought more XRP in 2020 when negative sentiment was high due to Ripple’s lawsuit with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
He said he plans to respond differently by asset in a bull market. Vasquez said he would take profits by selling some altcoins if prices rise, but would keep holding bitcoin. He added that he prefers a strategy of buying when market fear is high.
He said Ripple could benefit from a trend of growing participation by traditional financial institutions, but also said that to judge the impact on XRP, it is necessary to confirm not only partnership and approval news but also how much actual token demand increases. His remarks clearly show that Ripple’s business expansion and XRP’s price trend may not move at the same pace.
