UK-based clearing bank ClearBank is partnering with digital asset infrastructure provider Taurus to expand its stablecoin services, CoinDesk reported on Jan. 13 local time.

ClearBank plans to use Taurus-PROTECT as its wallet infrastructure to provide digital asset services.

The partnership is being pursued as part of ClearBank’s digital asset strategy, and the two companies plan to focus on stablecoins at an early stage.

ClearBank plans to use Taurus-PROTECT connectivity linked to Circle’s platform through the integration to support financial institutions issuing and redeeming MiCAR-compliant USDC and EURC. This also ties in with ClearBank’s recently announced plan to join the Circle Payments Network, CoinDesk reported.

Mark Fairless, ClearBank CEO, said, "Partnering with Taurus-PROTECT has enabled us to secure robust, compliant digital asset capabilities." He said it will play an important role in introducing new services and leading the future of payments.
