[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance will delist Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK).

On Oct. 14 (local time), blockchain media outlet U.Today reported that Binance decided to end trading support for the two tokens following a recent regular review. The move covers all spot trading pairs that include EPIC and QUICK.

Binance said trading will end on Oct. 28. When trading stops, any open orders for those pairs will be cancelled automatically, and related spot trading bot services will end at the same time. Binance advised users to modify or cancel trading bot settings before the services end.

The decision follows a regular review of listed assets. Binance explained that it checks whether digital assets continue to meet exchange standards and industry requirements, and can decide to delist assets after an in-depth review if they fall short of standards or if industry conditions change.

Key review items include project development activity, trading volume and liquidity, network stability and security, and disclosure and transparency. Binance also reviews changes in regulatory requirements, increases in token supply and changes to token economics structures. Binance did not disclose the specific reasons for delisting EPIC and QUICK.

Some linked services will end before spot trading. Copy trading support for the spot trading pairs will end on Oct. 21. Binance guided users to adjust or cancel related portfolios before the end date.

Support for the tokens will also end on Oct. 21 in the Simple Earn product. Products not redeemed in advance will be redeemed automatically, and the principal and accumulated rewards will be transferred to spot accounts.

Deposit and withdrawal support will end on a separate schedule from spot trading. Deposits will no longer be credited to accounts from 3 a.m. on Oct. 29, the day after trading ends. Withdrawal support is scheduled to end on Dec. 28. Users can move held tokens externally until the announced withdrawal deadline even after spot trading stops.

Remaining tokens after the delisting may be converted into stablecoins after Dec. 29. Binance said it does not guarantee the conversion and will make a separate announcement if it proceeds. If token conversion is not possible, Binance plans to continue supporting withdrawals, subject to network availability.

The move again shows that Binance regularly reviews listed assets. It also underscored that adjusting whether to maintain a listing based on reviews is directly linked to the exchange's asset management approach.
