[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] On Binance, the share of withdrawals by XRP whale wallets grew faster than across centralized exchanges overall.

On Oct. 14 (local time), blockchain outlet The Crypto Basic reported that Binance's seven-day average "whale-to-retail outflow gap" rose 10.5 percentage points to 63.5 percent on Oct. 13 from 53 percent on Oct. 7.

The indicator is a seven-day average of the relative difference between large XRP withdrawals and small withdrawals. A higher figure means whale-sized withdrawals account for a larger share of total exchange outflows than retail-sized withdrawals. But the indicator alone cannot confirm that whales' absolute withdrawal volume increased, nor does it prove accumulation by large holders.

Over the same period, the figure aggregating all centralized exchanges rose only 1.7 percentage points, from 46 percent to 47.7 percent. That means Binance's increase was about 6.2 times larger than the overall market's. The gap between Binance and the all-exchange average widened to 15.8 percentage points.

The trend is also similar to the on-chain structure seen in early August. On Aug. 3, the same indicator was around 62 percent and the overall exchange average was 44 percent. The gap then was about 18 percentage points. XRP was priced at $1.07 at the time and rose about 46 percent over the following weeks, climbing briefly to around $1.56.

But the past case does not guarantee this price move. The move has meaning as a point of comparison, but it is difficult to say the indicator directly triggered the rally or reliably signaled it. The current gap is 15.8 percentage points, 2.2 percentage points lower than the roughly 18 percentage points recorded on Aug. 3.

Binance expanded its lead again in just six days. That means whale-related withdrawals inside the exchange increased their presence far faster than in the overall market. XRP is now trading around $1.36, meaning the same structure is forming at a higher price than the $1.07 level seen during the August pattern.

Other on-chain indicators showing large-holder activity are also drawing attention. Over the past seven days, whale wallets added 71 million XRP. It is one of the more concentrated accumulation phases in recent months. Separately, CryptoQuant data showed Binance's 30-day whale outflows were tallied at 1.38 billion XRP, the highest in seven months.

Another point is that large-holder activity had already increased before Binance's whale-to-retail outflow gap began accelerating. The market is watching whether the indicator is recreating a structure similar to early August and what impact the trend forming at higher prices could have on XRP supply and demand.
