LG Uplus on Jan. 14 launched a new internet plan, SOHO Safe Compensation, focused on preventing financial damage for small business owners.
SOHO Safe Compensation is an internet plan for small business owners that automatically blocks access to suspected smishing, phishing and QR phishing sites. It also provides compensation if damage occurs and supports store device repair costs.
Monthly fees, based on a 3-year contract, are 25,300 won for 100M, 36,300 won for 500M and 42,900 won for 1G. Small business customers on the 500M and 1G plans can receive compensation of up to 3 million won a year for monetary losses from smishing and phishing through the Compensation Care Service. Customers on the 1G plan can also receive device repair costs of up to 500,000 won a year if electronic devices in their stores break down suddenly.
To provide stable service, the number of PCs that can be connected has also been greatly increased. The 500M and 1G plans offer simultaneous connections for up to 10 PCs, a sharp increase from the previous basic limit of 2. The company said it reflected demand from businesses such as restaurants, retail, small offices, hospitals and private academies that use multiple PCs at the same time.
In addition, all small business customers who sign up for SOHO Safe Compensation will receive Giga Wi-Fi 6 as standard. They will also receive free benefits from U+ Boss Plaza, which provides partnered services useful for business operations.
Kim Namsu, head of LG Uplus' SMB Business Tribe, said the SOHO Safe Compensation plan is a solution that helps small business customers run their businesses with peace of mind by supporting in-store security as well as compensation for financial losses.
