[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Samsung Electronics will provide Samsung Wallet stablecoin USDC transfer services to U.S. Galaxy users from late October. The service supports the Solana and Sui blockchain networks.

A report by Unchained on Oct. 8 (local time) said USDC is the first stablecoin supported by Samsung Wallet.

Samsung Electronics does not charge a fee when sending USDC to overseas crypto wallets. Receiving wallets or exchanges may charge their own fees. Transfer speed varies depending on network conditions. Recipients without a crypto wallet receive money in local currency through bank accounts in about 60 countries. Bank transfer fees vary by country and amount and are shown in the app before sending.

Overseas remittances will be handled by Bastion, a U.S.-regulated stablecoin custody company. Bastion designated Coinbase as a sub-custodian. All USDC in Samsung Wallet is stored in Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung Electronics does not hold customer funds. Account management, custody and fund movement are handled by regulated partners. Users must complete biometric authentication on a registered device to make transfers.

The service is available only to U.S. residents aged 18 or older who have a Samsung account and use a Galaxy device running Android 13 or later. Users must also complete registration, identity verification and biometric authentication setup.

Samsung Electronics and Coinbase will expand the scope of cooperation through the service. The two companies signed a partnership in 2025 centered on introducing Samsung Pay as a payment method in the Coinbase app.

Samsung Electronics said it could later add a function to pay with stablecoins online and in stores and expand the service to other markets.
