Bithumb will release two versions of its brand-exclusive typeface, 'Bithumb Gothic', for free to mark the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day.
Bithumb said on Oct. 8 it will support free downloads of Bithumb Gothic through its corporate website.
The fonts being released are Bithumb Gothic Original and Bithumb Gothic Basic.
Bithumb said it reflected the stability and reliability the company pursues in the typeface. It applied thick strokes and a balanced center of gravity, and used a solid square form to express transparency and clarity.
The development process also reflected employee feedback. It adjusted elements such as slant and weight to increase versatility so the typeface can be used in various environments.
Bithumb plans to apply Bithumb Gothic to external events, its official YouTube channel and various partner services. It also plans to register Bithumb Gothic Original and Basic as free fonts on the font platform 'Noonnu'.
A Bithumb official said, "It is meaningful to introduce the Bithumb typeface at a significant time, the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day." The official added, "We will continue to develop various fonts."
