AI digital forensics specialist Ulak is moving in earnest to target the Japanese market.
As part of that effort, Ulak attended RISCON TOKYO 2026, a comprehensive crisis management industry expo held at Tokyo Big Sight through Oct. 2. It showcased its DFAS series, which supports AI-based data analysis and on-site forensics.
The company said the participation was aimed at responding to Japan's rapidly changing market driven by the spread of AI use and expanding its existing business base into AI digital forensics.
Ulak plans to reflect local demand identified at the expo in its business strategy and expand its business portfolio in Japan beyond supplying existing digital forensics products. It plans to expand into AI-based data analysis, internal controls, checks for information leaks, verification of the use of generative AI and compliance responses. The company also plans to develop its forensics technology beyond a tool used for post-incident evidence analysis into technology that can help companies check how their data is being used and identify risk factors.
It plans to secure local partners capable of sustained cooperation by leveraging its existing business base in Japan. It also plans to expand customer touchpoints into the corporate market based on its forensic capabilities built up in the public and investigative markets.
Ulak CEO Bong-seok Yoo (유봉석) said Japan was a market where demand for generative AI, data analysis, internal controls, and digital investigations and audits was growing in earnest because of its advanced digital environment. He said the company would expand its business by enhancing its competitiveness in AI digital forensics technology on top of its established business base in Japan and strengthening cooperation with local partners.
