[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Global insurtech company Bolttech Korea said on Sept. 23 it has introduced an integrated device protection service, “iProtec+ with AppleCare Services,” in cooperation with Lotte Hi-Mart for customers who buy the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

iProtec+ with AppleCare Services supports repairs for accidental device damage and provides a 24-month extended warranty. The extended warranty also includes battery replacement when battery performance falls below 80 percent.

Under the loss and theft insurance, customers can have the device replaced once if it is lost or stolen during the 24-month coverage period. The deductible paid by the customer is 50 percent of the device’s recommended retail price (RRP).

ID Protect monitors the risk of customer personal data leaks. Customers can use it through a dedicated online platform, Protection Hub, and can also file loss and theft insurance claims on the same platform. Customers can sign up for iProtec+ with AppleCare Services when purchasing the iPhone 18 series through Lotte Hi-Mart’s online and offline channels.

Kwang-beom Ko (고광범), head of Bolttech Korea, said risks faced by consumers are becoming more diverse as smartphones are used across various areas, going beyond simple device damage. He said iProtec+ with AppleCare Services is an integrated protection service that combines device protection, loss and theft coverage and personal data monitoring into one, adding that the company will expand cooperation with various partners so domestic customers can access the protection services they need more easily and conveniently.
