[Digital Today reporter Ji-young Lee] Taiwan internet-only bank LINE Bank officially announced it recorded its first monthly profit 4 years and 7 months after launching.
LINE Bank said on Jan. 13 that its internally prepared financial statements as of December 2025 showed a pre-tax monthly net profit of more than 11 million Taiwan dollars (about 510 million won), making it the first among Taiwan's internet-only banks to turn profitable.
LINE Bank has actively expanded its platform ecosystem based on a large customer base it secured rapidly after its launch. It said it has secured strong growth momentum on the back of steep growth in loans and deposits, and it currently provides about 30 innovative financial services to more than 2.2 million users.
LINE Bank said its net profit entered a full-fledged growth trajectory in 2025, and it plans to make an all-out effort to achieve quarterly, half-year and annual profitability in 2026.
LINE Bank said it provides Taiwan customers with 24-hour uninterrupted financial services. It aims to break the time-and-place constraints of traditional finance and build an environment where customers can use financial services anytime, anywhere.
It said the LINE Bank ecosystem has a full 24-hour service lineup, including 24-hour transfers to other banks, fully automated credit loans, foreign exchange and overseas remittances, fund purchases and redemptions, subscription reservations for new ETFs, and a video customer service center.
It also simplified complex financial processes. It streamlined every step, from applying for and executing credit loans to remittances, foreign exchange, foreign-currency deposits, fund and ETF investments, and travel insurance subscribed to within the LINE app without a separate account.
It said its market presence has also strengthened rapidly, entering Taiwan's top 10 banks in transfers to other banks, and it ranked second in the financial industry in growth rate of outstanding credit loans over the past three years through optimisation of its lending process based on data integration.
Huang In-jun, CEO of LINE Financial and chairman of Taiwan LINE Bank's board, said, "LINE Bank's core value lies in realising the vision of Banking in Your Hand."
Morris Huang, CEO of Taiwan LINE Bank, said, "Through market-first innovative financial services, ceaseless technological innovation and active expansion of the platform business, we built the 'LINE Bank ecosystem' that customers can easily access anytime, anywhere."
