[DigitalToday reporter Hojeong Lee] Line Games will hold a Steam playtest for its new co-op science-fiction horror game "Code Exit" as it seeks feedback from global users.

Line Games said on Sunday it is recruiting participants for the Steam playtest of the new PC title, "Code Exit," being developed by Phase 8 Studio.

The test will run from Sept. 28 to Oct. 19. Users can apply in advance on the Code Exit Steam store page and can also join in the same way after the test begins.

Code Exit is a co-op sci-fi horror game set in a city occupied by a rampaging AI. Users become members of an investigative organisation deployed to restore the AI and track down the truth behind the incident. It supports solo play and co-op play for up to four people.

The game focuses on delivering a horror experience that does not rely on repetitive patterns by using AI that learns sound production and user behaviour in real time. It emphasises psychological pressure that builds during play rather than simple jump scares, and missions are designed to require cooperation among participants.

Line Games previously unveiled the first demo version of Code Exit at "2026 PlayX4" in May. It ranked first in the Epic Games Store's "Top Demo" selection at the time.

It later took part in Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026 in August and GXG 2026 in September, collecting feedback from users on site. This Steam test is a step to expand validation that had been conducted mainly offline to global users.

A Line Games official said, "As this is a title we complete together with users, we plan to use this playtest to check a range of feedback and improve the game's quality."
