Naver Pay is offering point accrual and payment amount discounts to customers using overseas QR payments during the Chuseok holiday. It is also running promotions by major travel destination, including Japan and China, along with a “bokjumeoni” event available in 74 countries and regions worldwide.

Naver Pay said on Sunday it will run the Chuseok bokjumeoni promotion for overseas QR payment users through Oct. 31.

Under the event, users open a bokjumeoni to check randomly presented payment amounts and point accrual conditions. If they make a QR payment overseas that meets those conditions, points are issued immediately.

The event is available at Alipay+, UnionPay and GLN merchants in 74 countries and regions where Naver Pay provides its overseas QR payment service.

Naver Pay is also running on-site overseas payment discount events by country. In Japan, it will offer up to 10 percent random instant discounts for QR payments at UnionPay merchants through year-end. The discount applies up to 10 times a month, with a total discount cap of 10,000 yen during the event period.

In mainland China, users who pay 10 yuan or more at Alipay+ merchants through Oct. 7 can receive a random discount of up to 200 yuan per transaction. The discount is available up to 5 times in total.

In Hong Kong and Macau, Naver Pay will offer an instant 10 percent discount on payment amounts for QR payments at UnionPay merchants through year-end. The maximum discount per transaction is HK$100 in Hong Kong and 100 patacas in Macau, and it applies up to 2 times in each region during the event period.
