Rebellions said on Tuesday it has signed a partnership with Japanese AI company ai&. In line with ai&'s expansion of inference services in Japan, Rebellions will supply its inference solution, RBLAC, for use on heterogeneous infrastructure.

The buildout of a Tokyo data centre will begin with an initial shipment. It plans to quickly expand the rollout and deploy more than 100 RBLAC units. The initial build could increase further depending on ai&'s data centre expansion plan, the company said. ai& has secured more than $2 billion in infrastructure investment. It aims to operate five sites by the end of 2026 and secure 40 MW of capacity by the end of 2027.

ai& operates a heterogeneous infrastructure model that combines different computing resources to match AI workload characteristics. With an inference-focused architecture that emphasises power efficiency and reduced operating costs, ai& can flexibly deploy inference resources and configure a range of services.

David Bennett (데이비드 베넷), co-founder and CEO of ai&, said, "This partnership enables us to offer Japanese customers a wider range of inference options, and we will use it as a stepping stone to expand cooperation further."

Sung-hyun Park (박성현), CEO of Rebellions, said, "With this cooperation, Rebellions has secured a point of contact to meet local customers in Japan directly and can expand its business base in the Japanese AI infrastructure market." He added, "At the same time, we will provide more efficient inference infrastructure to Japanese companies, the government and developers."
