Coinbase Chief Executive Brian Armstrong said he views $400,000 for bitcoin in 2030 as a realistic target. U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Sept. 10 that Armstrong appeared on CNBC's "Squawk Box Asia" and said the long-term bullish outlook remains valid even if bitcoin is trading below $80,000.

Armstrong said technical factors and regulatory progress could push up bitcoin prices over the next few years. He cited the Clarity bill and pointed to regulatory clarity as a key variable for its impact on the broader crypto industry. He also said the next halving could be a factor behind a rise in bitcoin's price.

Armstrong also leaned toward the possibility that this cycle's bitcoin low has already formed. He cited that bitcoin generally repeats cycles of around four years, and that downturn phases often last about a year. He said the recent downtrend has just passed one year and that, personally, he believes this cycle's low has already occurred.

As evidence, he cited a rebound after the July 1, 2026 low. Bitcoin fell then to as low as $57,717, below $60,000, but later rose again. Armstrong said bitcoin has already rebounded at around $60,000, and that the market is watching whether the Clarity bill passes and, if it fails, the rule-making process that would follow.

Armstrong was optimistic about bitcoin's path over the next 1 to 2 years. He said about 1 year and 6 months remain until the next bitcoin halving, and that prices typically tend to rise before a halving. The next halving is estimated to take place around mid-April 2028 at a block height of 1.05 million.
