Genians named KOSDAQ Rising Star for fourth straight year
South Korean cybersecurity firm Genians said on Aug. 13 it was selected for the Korea Exchange-hosted 2026 KOSDAQ Rising Star programme for a fourth straight year. It submitted its Genian NAC network access control solution in the cybersecurity category and received high scores across quantitative and qualitative evaluations. The selection will provide a package of support such as personnel, funding and consulting to strengthen global capabilities.

AI-enabled consumer electronics are moving quickly into daily life, fuelling backlash over privacy as devices such as TVs with background recording, earbuds that offer call recording and smart glasses that can film what wearers see become commonplace. Mozilla Foundation communications director Lauren Hendry Parsons warned of “surveillance chic” and said privacy-by-design must protect bystanders as well as buyers. AGI CEO Div Garg said AI wearables need not send data to the cloud if models run on-device.

Debate is intensifying over how to respond to new security threats emerging from the spread of AI, with alliances expanding beyond security firms to include semiconductor and platform companies. Nvidia-led Open Secure AI Alliance formed a first working group and released proposals for confidential reporting and post-incident analysis. Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue called for mandatory disclosure of hacks targeting AI firms. Reports and tests also raised concerns about AI misuse, vulnerabilities and faster exploitation.
