Nvidia targets $200 billion CPU market dominated by Intel and AMD
Nvidia is moving into the data centre central processing unit market, stepping into server chips long dominated by Intel and AMD. It has secured AI search startup Perplexity as the first customer for its next-generation Vera CPU platform. Nvidia says CPUs are increasingly a bottleneck in running AI services, reducing overall system efficiency. Tests run jointly with Perplexity showed Vera outperforming existing server CPUs, though results have not been independently verified.
