U.S. considers additional curbs on China-made robots in response to rare earth controls

The United States has begun reviewing possible restrictions on imports of China-made robots, broadening U.S.-China technology competition into robotics and physical AI, the article said. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said he was examining imports backed by Chinese government support and could act once the review ends. China responded by adding 10 U.S. companies, including MP Materials and USA Rare Earths, to a dual-use export ban list.
