AI cost concerns surge as OpenAI, Anthropic step up South Korea push
More companies are restricting employee use of AI tools after widely rolling them out, citing rising costs. LG AI Research signs deal with D&D Pharmatech to step up AI-based peptide drug development
LG AI Research said on Tuesday it signed a main contract with D&D Pharmatech for a joint project to develop next-generation peptide drugs. LG AI Research will develop AI models to analyse disease-causing structures, design suitable peptide sequences and identify drug candidates. D&D Pharmatech will design, synthesise and evaluate candidates and carry out oral formulation development, preclinical and clinical trials, and global approval procedures.

Samsung Electronics, Harvard Medical School to study monitoring side effects of obesity drugs with Galaxy Watch
Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it will pursue a joint study with Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, to track physical changes in patients taking GLP-1 obesity drugs using the Galaxy Watch. The study will use the Galaxy Watch8’s BioActive Sensor and follow 100 adults starting weight-loss drug therapy. Researchers will compare a group using the watch for body composition and activity monitoring with a standard-treatment group, alongside DXA scans.
