iPhone vs Android: which is safer? A closer look at security features
Android and iOS both offer a range of smartphone security functions, but differ sharply in how broadly they allow third-party apps, how they respond to theft and how they approach privacy. Both support two-factor authentication and built-in password managers. Apple relies on App Store review and malware detection, while Android uses Google Play Protect and permits sideloading, which can raise risk. Experts say security depends less on the operating system than on which protections users enable.

Bluesky blocks 8,526 influence accounts over 1 year, targeting state-linked activity
Bluesky removed 8,526 state-involved influence-manipulation accounts over the past year, it said. It implemented the measures over the year since May 2025 and deleted 4,907 accounts since January 2026 alone. Bluesky said its removal pace in 2026 was about twice that of 2025, often deleting accounts within hours of their first post and limiting average views to about 50 before takedown. Many operations relied on hijacked existing accounts, including dormant ones. Bluesky urged strong unique passwords, password managers and two-factor authentication.

Can passkeys transform crypto wallet user experience?
Passkeys, a passwordless login technology backed by FIDO standards and WebAuthn, are drawing attention as a way to simplify authentication on phones and PCs. He lists four common misconceptions around support, reuse, export and repeated login prompts, and notes limitations including webviews and recovery risks.
