Dogecoin community warns offline wallets not necessarily safe, issues security alert on cold storage
A security warning has been raised over how Dogecoin is stored, with a community contributor cautioning that creating a wallet on a computer disconnected from the internet does not guarantee safety. Mishaboar said malware or compromised hardware and operating systems can capture seed phrases and later exfiltrate them when the device reconnects. He said keeping assets on exchanges is not a fundamental solution and urged users to diversify wallets, use passphrases and keep offline backups.
