Hound13 rejects Webzen \'Dragon Sword\' lawsuit, says contract terminated over unpaid MG
Hound13, the developer of the new game \'Dragon Sword\', rejected Webzen\'s request for an injunction to block it from self-publishing. Hound13 said Webzen failed to meet its obligation to pay a minimum guarantee under their publishing contract. It said it lawfully terminated the contract on Feb. 13 under the agreed procedures and has independent rights to service the game, including preparing a Steam release.

Small game developers in South Korea falter as weak launches shake survival model
Warning signs are mounting for small and midsize game developers in South Korea, with setbacks ranging from PixelTribe’s shutdown and bankruptcy to CloverGames’ corporate bankruptcy filing and a publishing dispute between Hound13 and Webzen. The cases share a fragile business model in which early monetisation failures quickly trigger reduced operations, cash squeezes and staff departures. A tougher funding climate, higher fixed labour costs and widening AI-driven productivity gaps with large developers are also adding pressure.

Webzen says Hound13\'s unilateral termination notice for \'DragonSword\' invalid
Webzen disputed claims by \'DragonSword\' developer Hound13 that their publishing agreement had been terminated. Webzen said the parties were in talks on measures to ensure smooth game service operations, including additional investment, when Hound13 suddenly notified immediate termination without prior corrective request. Webzen said the notice lacked substantive legal requirements and also failed to meet procedural requirements under the publishing contract and Hound13\'s articles of incorporation.
