KakaoPay Securities wins proprietary trading licence, opening path for IPO underwriting
KakaoPay Securities has obtained a proprietary trading (securities) licence from financial authorities, enabling it to underwrite and manage initial public offerings and supply products using its own capital. Authorities approved an application on July 1 to add a business unit for financial investment services. The company can now directly underwrite, trade and sell securities beyond brokerage. It plans to expand IPO subscriptions, corporate finance products and offerings for individual investors.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit and its operating entity, Bybit Fintech Limited, have been added to the Monetary Authority of Singapore\'s investor alert list. MAS did not disclose specific reasons for the inclusion, Cointelegraph reported. Based on publicly available information, Bybit is not a MAS-licensed or regulated entity. Bybit’s website classifies Singapore as a restricted jurisdiction, and local users cannot access its services.

Curve Finance launches Llamalend v2, deploys on Optimism ahead of Ethereum mainnet
DeFi protocol Curve Finance launched Llamalend v2, an upgraded lending infrastructure, on Optimism ahead of an Ethereum mainnet deployment. The new version removes collateral pairing limits that had been restricted to crvUSD pairs and allows most assets, including Curve LP tokens, to be used as collateral and borrowable assets. Curve received a 250,000 OP token grant from the Optimism Foundation, to be distributed over about two months. Mainnet deployment is planned for the second half of this year.
