JB Financial Group, Upstage partner to develop finance-focused AI agents, expand group AX

JB Financial Group will work with AI company Upstage to develop finance-focused AI agents that can be applied in financial operations. Key affiliates including Jeonbuk Bank, Gwangju Bank and JB Woori Capital will take part to expand group-wide AI transformation. The partners will jointly develop AI agents using Upstage’s large language model technology, identify tasks for on-site deployment, and broaden cooperation to training, personnel exchanges, regional projects and consortium participation.

Korean AI startups target Silicon Valley as ministry discusses cooperation with Google, Nvidia

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency held K-Global@Silicon Valley 2026 from Sept. 10 to 12 to support Korean AI startups’ overseas expansion. A total of 31 startups joined programs on partnerships with big tech, one-on-one talks with venture capital firms and networking. The ministry also ran K-AI Tech Week and Google AI Day, and discussed cooperation with Google Cloud and Nvidia.

AI Strategy Committee shifts to project-based work, steps up AIDC, defence AX, AI security and standardisation

South Korea\'s National AI Strategy Committee set a goal for its second year of positioning the country as an irreplaceable core player in the global AI supply chain and a trusted partner. It plans to pursue tasks including national strategic industrialisation of AI data centres, industry and defence AX, and AI security and standardisation, while shifting its operations from subcommittee-led work to project-based execution. It also aims to focus on implementation and performance management as the cross-government AI budget rises.
