Bitcoin spot ETF trading slows sharply, Ethereum sees stronger net inflows

Weekly turnover in bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds over five trading sessions fell to its lowest level since October 2024, while ethereum spot ETFs drew larger net inflows. Bitcoin spot ETFs posted $33.8 million of weekly net inflows, but late-week outflows erased most midweek gains. Ethereum spot ETFs recorded $103.9 million of net inflows and have outpaced bitcoin in inflows for two consecutive weeks, despite much smaller total assets.

Bitcoin spot ETFs have far to go despite rebound; June outflows hit record

U.S.-listed bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds posted net inflows for a second straight week, but the rebound remains limited. The past two weeks brought $273.1 million of net inflows, just 3.3 percent of the $8.2 billion that exited over the previous eight weeks. June outflows totalled about $4.5 billion, the largest monthly figure since the products launched in January 2024. Analysts remain divided over whether the move marks a trend shift.

UAE exchange MidChains CEO says sovereign wealth funds accumulating spot bitcoin

A claim has emerged that sovereign wealth funds have recently been accumulating spot bitcoin, as retail participation slows and institutional and corporate money views current prices as a long-term opportunity. MidChains CEO Basil Al Askari said at least one sovereign wealth fund is buying spot bitcoin and up to two could be confirmed in coming weeks. He said such buying may not quickly lift prices but could signal other institutions.
